A message from your President Pat Trede

everyone Welcome
to you all.
Here we are back in December again. Where does the year go—we must be having fun!! Hope you have all remembered
your Secret Santa gift and your glass—very important!! Our speaker this month is Natasha Thompson. So we can enjoy the
night we will try to keep our business as brief as possible so please read your County and In House newsletters.
You will have seen in your WI Life magazine this year’s proposed resolutions. You need to vote on these
asap. Hope you read the briefing sheets sent out. Please send off your voting
slips or put them in our envelope which we will take or send to County WI
House after the meeting. The most popular issues will be discussed at our resolutions meeting in May. Which ever resolution
is then successful, from this national vote, will be proposed in June 2010, at the AGM in Cardiff.
Last year I reported back to you that some of us enjoyed an evening listening to Gail Stuart—talking about
her life as Eric Morecambe’s daughter. So I am pleased to say that Gail has agreed to be our speaker at our Open Evening
in March 2010.As we expect quite a few visitors we will change the venue to The Conservative club. We do however need to know
if you are coming so we have an idea as to how many visitors we can invite from the local area.
Also on 22nd March 2010 our local Group 23 is meeting at the Town Hall. The speaker that night will
be Steve Pateman telling us his “Kinky Boot Story” This is the meeting that we agreed to organise so we do need
some help in the form of a small sub committee.
Please see the boards, which will be circulating during the December meeting, for both these events.
We are missing one or two members due to ill health at
the moment so a speedy recovery to Deidre and Lesley. We hope to see you both in the New Year but in the mean time keep
smiling and please keep in touch.
Don’t forget – Read your County newsletter if there is an event you want to go to tell Chris Cowlin

There is always a closing date so miss that and you may miss out or ring WI House to see if there are any places still available. When the tickets and instructions arrive for
your event you then pay giving cash or a cheque to TEWI. See our current treasurer.
Enjoy your evening and see you in January at our New Year Meal or at our February 2010 meeting.
