We have set ourselves a challenge of enhancing our local environment by tidying up some parts of the town and plant shrubs
and bulbs in suitable locations over a 2 year period.
We began in May 2005 and have already made great strides.
We
began by painting and re-planting a neglected planter at the northern entrance to the town.
We followed that by planting
bulbs in various locations around Towcester - on the roundabout at the top of Brackley Road, by the cemetery gates, in Sponne
Arcade and at Northgate Road.
In February 2008 we were fortunate to be granted funds from Northamptonshire County
Council to enable us to purchase a cast-iron planter to replace the old wooden one at the northern entrance to the town.
In
2009 we were awarded another grant resulting in another splendid planter at the southern entrance to the town.
