A potted history ----Towcester Afternoon WI first formed in 1927 but closed in the mid nineteen nighties.

Towcester Evening WI formed in 1971.

The WI movement in Towcester celebrated it's 80th anniversary in 2007.  

 

We are a very enthusiastic and lively WI group.

As we move into the 21st century there is still a commitment to education and training and we are still fighting to improve conditions of rural life but now are also involved with international campaigns as well as national ones. We have successfully adapted to the changing needs of both women and of the communities to which we belong. As women we hope to continue to make a difference in this high-tech and fast moving decade.

But most of all we aim for FUN & FRIENDSHIP!
